Tenali Rama is an Indian historical comedy drama based on the life of the legendary Telugu poet Tenali Ramakrishna, one of the eight Ashtadiggajas or the eight poets at the court of Vijayanagara Emperor Krishnadevaraya who is often cited as the greatest Vijayanagara emperor.
The series is produced by Abhimanyu Singh under the banner of Contiloe Entertainment and is directed by T.S. Nagabharana.Tenali Rama is the story of the legendary poet Ramakrishna (Krishna Bharadwaj) in Emperor Krishnadevraya's (Manav Gohil) court who uses his timely wit and intelligence to solve even the trickiest problems and becomes very popular in the King’s court. His archrival Tathacharya (Pankaj Berry), who always wants to show him down, is often stumped by Tenali's intelligence and wit. He wins the king's appreciation by solving difficult cases, much to the annoyance of Tathacharya. He has a talking ponytail fondly called 'bandhu' by him.
